A Christian organization that aims to empower and equip women to pursue their purpose in Christ, the women of Chosen Women of Worth were the brains and the operation behind the annual Faith & Fashion event. Founded by Katlyne Dessaint-Louis, this year’s event was held at Paris Street Gallery in Everett, and featured celebrity stylist J. Bolin. Also billed for a special appearance was award winning makeup artist and photographer, Joanna Petit-Frere of Visage 1 Studios. Despite Boston being considered a no man’s land for fashion, some of Boston’s most fashionable were out slaying in full force!

With the event space beautifully decorated by Social Social, event attendees were in for an amazing time. The event’s festivities began with an early entrance for VIP attendees who were treated to delicious hors d'oeuvres, received first dibs on the many amazing vendors amongst whom, included gems like Glamour Up Cosmetics, V-Lure Designs and  I Love Fly Girl Couture. They also had the opportunity to mingle with J. Bolin, who greeted everyone with a genuine smile. Once in full swing, Joanna Petit-Frere took to the stage showing off her makeup application accolades with a live makeup tutorial. She outlined the foundation for a great beat face, her favorite products to use all while answering questions from the audience. A mini fashion show then followed by Saint John 316 and I promise you, their runway slay did not disappoint!

Next, event attendees were then introduced to Taisha Crayton, author of newly published book, Build Your Own Way. She interviewed J. Bolin and moderated the question and answer portion that followed. During the time spent listening to J. Bolin, he detailed his humble beginnings, decision to pursue fashion and how his journey has brought him in the company of people such as Oprah Winfrey. A man of faith, J. Bolin’s testimony was a message of hope, perseverance and why trusting God’s plan for your life will take you to the places you never imagined. His address to the crowd was sprinkled with nuggets of faith and chock full of encouragement.

Chosen Women of Worth’s Faith & Fashion event beautifully intertwined attendees love of fashion, while reinforcing the notions of faith in God and his divine purpose for our lives. There were feelings of gratitude that this organization would conceive, produce and execute an event of this caliber. Faith truly intersected with fashion for an awe-inspiring afternoon that blessed so many!
